In the center of the town there are 365 steps that go up about 300 meters to the Ikaho Shrine. The stairs were originally built by the great military strategist Masayuki Sanada during the turbulent Sengoku period at the end of the 16th century, hoping to make it easier for wounded soldiers to access the spring for healing. It is now a leisure and wellness center.

From October to November, this area will be soaked in bright red and yellow, adding lively colors to the already beautiful scenery. Kamakura Daibutsu Den Kotoku In
Known as the Great Buddha of Kamakura, this bronze Buddha statue dates back to the 13th century and is the second tallest bronze Buddha statue in Japan. This Buddha statue is an iconic attraction and the most visited tourist attraction in the Kanto region.
The Buddha statue is 11.3 meters high and weighs 121 tons. This is a bronze statue of Amitabha, second only to the Great Buddha of Todai-ji Temple in Nara in height.
Like the statues in Nara, the Great Buddha of Kamakura was originally housed in a temple building after it was cast in the 13th century. But in the 14th and 15th centuries, the main hall housing the Buddha statues was repeatedly damaged by typhoons, tsunamis and earthquakes. So in 1498, the statue's caretakers succumbed to the irresistible forces of nature and exposed the statue to the wind and rain. Since then, the standing Buddha has become a sacred symbol of Kamakura.
